The Alternative Writing Circle

3. I want this Circle to work both ways, as does my other one. In Blackburn we meet and do some homework and a ten minute writing spell. We also go over member's work. That is what I want to achieve here. I will set some homework to members each month. This could be a short story , a poem or an article. The 10 minute writing may have to go, but certainly not members sending in their own stories or poems. This is fundemental to every Circle, no matter where you are in the world.

I'm sure with a bit of hard work and some input from potential members, I can make a success of this Circle. Here is a few words about myself so you will know who you will be dealing with:

My name is Leslie Hamilton. I am aged 60 and married to Alison. We live in a bungalow in Blackburn, Lancashire, England with four dogs and two cats. I was forcably retired last November (sign of the times I'm afraid) but have kept myself busy ever since. I have recently passed the Diploma course for Creative Writing at the Open University, hence the initials after my name. An excellent two year course, by the way.

I have written four fiction novels and am on with my fifth. None have been published so far, but The Law was shortlisted for the Dundee Book Prize last year. All my novels are available for purchase or perusal on The Blurb web site. I will give outlines of them later on this site.

My son has built me a small office at the rear of the garage so I have the perfect place for peace and quiet to get the work done on this site.

If anyone, especially future members, wish to give me advice on how I can improve the site, that information is most welcome.
