Hi all you writers out there. I'm sure there are many of us who cannot make it to a fortnightly or monthly meeting for various reasons. I am not against writing circles. I was chair and secretart of Chorley & District Writing Circle for three yesrs so I understand how important they are to writers like ourselves.
I also realise that not everyone who wants to attend a meeting can do, for various reasons. Sickness, work, shopping (our meetings were on a Saturday afternoon). Dare I say it, football.
Meeting other writers to talk about your work or just to get ideas is really important. Of course we would all like to be published but just to let others hear or read your work can give the constructive critisism that I believe we all need.
I have written three novels and am well into my fourth. I am yet to be published. I have had the odd short story, article and poem published in various magazines and the local newspaper. I have moved on from there and found my niche to be novel writing.
I enjoy all type of writing as I'm sure many of you do. Yes, some of you do specialise in a particular genre, but variety is the spice of life.
These are the reasons why I am starting this web site.
I'm not sure how it will develop yet, but I would like it to include various works of us writers. A full poem, a full article, maybe a full short story and one chapter from an ongoing novel. Plus various news and view found from other writing sites which I think may be of interest. I will be concentrating on the UK market at the moment, but will be happy to go international if the need arises. Time will tell.
Send in your work as an attachment on email. Please ring me first if you prefer.
Let me know what you think of the idea of an alternative writing circle.
